Message from the President...

Did anybody ever decide to go after that sunken remote controlled boat in Springfield? I guess that's the kind of mail we get when we're out on the world-wide web. Received a message over the weekend from a guy in Columbus asking if it was true that there had been a scuba swap/flea market held in Dayton. Not sure if he was just needing an answer to win a bet or if he was looking for gear at bargain prices, but I answered him. Maybe he'll win enough in the bet to be able to afford some new gear.

Took the tanks in for their annual visual inspection and once again, they passed inspection. Burned the air in one of them at the Gavia Pool Party on Saturday night at the Miami University Aquatic Center. This is a great facility with three huge pools. Those of us with tanks spent our time in the 18' deep diving pool. The entire pool was about 18' and if only those dry-suit divers had moved, we could have taken a dive off of the diving towers along one side of the pool. Some buoyancy control rings were set up to test your buoyancy skills and the most fun was a rubber rocket. I noticed that some people combined the two and were attempting to sail the rocket through the hoops. I think I saw Mark upside down doing a reggae head spin in time to the music that was piped into the pool. Steve and Susan were there testing Susan's new camera, I had my nephews and Mark's family was there too. Thanks to Mark and Steve for keeping an eye on Zach, 15. He had been on my octopus most of the evening and the next thing I knew, he's got my bc, fins and mask and he's headed for the bottom. Mark handed him some weight so he could stay down without a lot of effort. I think Zach signaled him with a "41" as a sign of thanks! Zach didn't even seem to mind he was wearing my pink bc and my pink force fins. Maybe I'll get a new dive buddy, unless someone warns him about being my buddy!

I think Steve has put together a video of a Panama City Beach trip for our program. If not, we'll find something to do.

See everyone on Tuesday at Elsa's.
